Über Thürmsdorf zu den Bärensteinen – hike
The circuit leads from Thürmsdorf to two small table mountains that are far less visited than their well-known neighbours. First you pass Schloss Thürmsdorf with its rose and rhododendron park, then it continues to the Götzingerhöhle and on to the Kleiner Bärenstein. After the descent comes the Große Bärenstein with its viewing platform and views of the Lilienstein and Festung Königstein. The way back passes the Malerwegkapelle and the Pehnabach waterfall, the highest waterfall in Saxon Switzerland. Almost half of the route is narrow paths, the rest is hiking trails, gravel and asphalt.
Tip: In places the viewpoint rocks lack safety barriers, so the tour is tricky with children. The park at the castle is also accessible without going on the hike.
