Malerweg-Tipp der Familie Jäger: Weißig – Thürmsdorf – hike
The Jäger family's favourite section of the Malerweg – the end of stage 7. From Weißig the path runs along the edge of the forest, with views of the Eulensteine, Bastei and Lilienstein, over to Thürmsdorf. On a rocky outcrop stands the Malerwegkapelle, a domed chapel dating from 1920/21; right next to it is the Johann-Alexander-Thiele-Aussicht, the viewpoint from which Thiele painted the Festung Königstein. Then you reach Schloss Thürmsdorf with its freely accessible park, pond and rose garden. Beneath the castle, ADORATIO makes organic chocolate – the chocolate café is the best reason for a break. You can return the same way or by bus.
