Von Bad Schandau über die Schrammsteinaussicht und die Breite Kluft – hike
You start in Kurort and climb up along the Lutherweg, past the Lutherdenkmal, towards Ostrau. Through the Schrammsteintor and along the Wildschützensteig, iron ladders and walkways take you up to the Schrammsteinaussicht, where the view opens out over the jagged ridge and into the Elbe valley. The circuit then leads back down through the Breite Kluft, past the Teufelsturm, which is around forty metres high. Steep wooden staircases in the Lattengrund take you to the banks of the Elbe, and you return to Bad Schandau along the river. The terrain alternates between forest paths, rock steps and the riverside promenade.
Tip: According to the source, the exposed sections are only suitable for experienced, sure-footed walkers, and sturdy footwear is a must. In the core zone you must stay on the marked paths, and dogs must be kept on a lead; the source recommends the tour only with small dogs.
