Vom Kurpark Bad Gottleuba zur Talsperre Gottleuba – hike
From the Schwanenteich in the Kurpark, you first climb the Augustusberg, 513 metres high and the highest point of the circuit. The path then continues across the Wüste Mark Erdmannsdorf, a settlement area abandoned in the Middle Ages, to the Talsperre Gottleuba reservoir, which covers around 60 hectares. The second part of the circuit skirts the Raabsteine, a group of rocks above the reservoir, and then runs over the Helleberg, at 496 metres, back to Bad Gottleuba. Along the way, broad forest tracks predominate, interspersed with quiet woodland paths. In the village, the Art Nouveau complex built between 1909 and 1913, with the museum of medical history, is well worth a look.
Tip: User feedback from 2023 reports poor signposting on the southern sections, so we recommend taking a map.
