Schwedenlöcher, Amselsee und Bastei – Runde ab Basteiparkplatz – hike
You start up at the Bastei and first descend into the Schwedenlöcher, a narrow rock gorge with mossy walls and about 700 steps. At the bottom you follow the valley floor to the Amselsee, where boat trips are offered in summer. The path then leads back uphill via Kurort Rathen to the Felsenburg Neurathen and the Basteibrücke. The surface alternates between rock steps, forest paths and paved paths. If you walk the circuit in the opposite direction, you will have the more than 600 steps of the Schwedenlöcher ahead of you on the ascent.
