Panoramaweg rund um Hinterhermsdorf mit Weifbergturm – hike

From the Haus des Gastes you climb gently along the Alte Nixdorfer Straße up to the Weifberg, which reaches just under 478 metres. At the top, 173 steps of an open spiral staircase lead up to the platform of the wooden tower, which is about 37 metres tall. From there you can see across the national park, the Lausitzer Bergland and, when the air is clear, as far as the Böhmisches Mittelgebirge. Afterwards, follow the yellow-marked ridge trail with viewpoints such as the Emmabank, and finally make your way back down through the loosely built-up districts. The paths are mostly wide and easy to walk, and the ascent is pleasantly spread over several kilometres. The circuit is well suited as a first introduction to the area.

Tip: Walkable all year round; in winter the section at the Hackkuppe can be icy. The tower is freely accessible, and there is a puzzle for children on the way up.
