Kyjovské údolí (Khaatal) – kleine Runde von Kyjov – hike
This short circuit opens up one of the quieter valleys in the region. From Kyjov, the yellow waymarks lead first to the Velká Kyjovská vyhlídka with its wide view over the gorge, then on to the Malá Kyjovská vyhlídka, where a bench sits in a rock overhang. The path drops steeply down steps and switchbacks into the canyon that the Křinice has carved into the sandstone. At the bottom you follow the river, past the Kyjovský hrádek, a medieval rock site whose purpose has never been clarified. About 1.5 kilometres from Kyjov you will find the Vinný sklep, a natural rock cave. The terrain consists of forest tracks, steps and narrow rock passages.
Tip: The Kyjovské údolí and the Kyjovský hrádek were already accessible again in August 2022 after the fire; the valley lies east of the burnt area. There is an increased risk from falling trees throughout the national park. Please take cash in crowns for parking fees and refreshments, and don't forget your ID card.
