Forststeig Elbsandstein, Etappe 4: Kamphütte zur Rotsteinhütte – hike
This stage switches several times between ridges and the valley floor, touching the Bielatal along its entire length. After the Nachbar viewpoint and the springs Sophienquelle and Herkulesquelle, you reach the Herkulessäulen and the Johanniswacht, then descend to the Ottomühle. Via the Bennohöhle and the Grenzplatte, the trail leads up onto the heights along the national border and on to the Zehrborn-Biwak. At the Schneeberger Kreuz the last section begins, running via Rosenthal to the Rotsteinhütte. The terrain ranges from forest tracks to narrow, partly stony paths, and the stage demands a good basic level of fitness.
