Festung Königstein zu Fuß – hike
The mountain fortress above the Elbe valley that was never conquered, one of the largest in Europe. Be sure to walk the circuit along the fortress wall – a right royal panorama. A good day out even in the rain, as much of it is indoors.
Tip: The casemates are closed due to water damage, "Zum Musketier" until 2028. In Advent there is a medieval Christmas market.
