Die Burgen des Polenztals: Hohnstein und Hockstein – hike
From the Markt in Hohnstein, you descend via the Schindergraben into the Polenztal and follow the river. The path then climbs up to the Hockstein, where a viewing pavilion opens up the view over the valley. Through the narrow Wolfsschlucht with its ladders, you descend again, continuing over the Teufelsgrundbrücke, the Knotenweg and the Koppelsgrund. Back in the Polenztal, you reach the Waltersdorfer Mühle and climb up to Hohnstein. The circuit is rated difficult, but is quite doable for older children.
