Burg Stolpen und Wesenitztal – hike
From the Markt, the route leads via Schützenhausgasse and Kirchsteig to the Seerosenteich and on to Rennersdorf and Neudörfel. Passing the Rittergut, you reach the Wesenitztal, which you follow along the Wesenitztal-Wanderweg, marked with a red dot. The Bischofsweg takes you back into the old town of Stolpen, past the Stadtkirche and to the viewpoint at the Bastionen. To finish, you visit Burg Stolpen, built on basalt, from where it is only a few steps back to the Markt. The paths are mostly firm, and in the valley partly damp.
